Guy is a Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator and Fuels Specialist with extensive experience conducting forensic investigations into fires and explosions as well as mechanical systems and equipment. Guy worked within the Fuels Safety program at Ontario’s Technical Standards & Safety Authority for 17 years, prior to which he was employed in the HVAC industry for a further 15 years, both as a technician and a commercial/industrial gas instructor. Guy has served in leadership roles, including vice-chair at the Regional Common Ground Alliance, statutory director under the Technical Standards & Safety Act, and as a member of the B149.1 code committee.
Mike is Fuels Specialist and Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator. He has over 45 years of experience in the fuels industry, including 18 years investigating various fuel applications, incendiary fires suspected to have a fuel involvement, as well as suspicious fires, fire fatalities and gaseous explosions. These investigations include the determination of the area of the fire origin, fuels involved and source of ignition. Mike also has experience investigating environmental issues caused by fuels, including major petroleum leaks and pipeline damages. Mike has appeared in court, preparing prosecution packages and presenting findings.
Nabi specializes in the forensic structural investigation of buildings and the design of retrofitting schemes for damaged or under-designed structures. In the course of his career, Nabi has conducted structural assessments of existing steel, concrete, masonry and wood buildings under gravity loading, vibration and seismic forces. He has also designed steel and concrete structures, including high-rise residential and office towers, commercial retail units, and long-span steel trusses. Nabi holds a MSc. in Earthquake Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of Alberta.
Darren is a Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems Operator specializing in pre-loss and post-loss site inspections, field investigations and aerial scene mapping using Pix4D and Drone Deploy software. He was a Level 3 Traffic Collision Investigator and a Level 4 Collision Reconstructionist with over 30 years of policing experience.
Tristan is a Forensic Engineer and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering and a degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Ottawa. His professional experience includes conducting fire scene investigations, failure analyses, and examinations. Tristan has attended and investigated over 650 fire scene investigations and evidence examinations.
