Zaid is a licensed Professional Engineer based in Ontario. He is a graduate of Concordia University with a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Infrastructure. He specializes in forensic structural investigations in the analysis, design, and restoration of structural systems across residential, commercial, and industrial structures. His work spans the design and analysis of wood, steel, and concrete structures, design of fire separations, code compliance reviews, and detailed structural assessments of environmental and structural failures. Zaid possesses sound and extensive knowledge in the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) and Ontario Building Code (OBC).
Hussein is a structural designer and forensic investigator. He is a registered building code designer in Building Structural, Large and Small Buildings with the MMAH and a certified engineering technician with the OACETT. Hussein holds a bachelor’s degree from McMaster University, and he is currently a Master of Engineering candidate at the University of Toronto in Structural & Forensic Engineering. Hussein currently specializes in structural and building envelope investigations, and the design of structural repairs.
He is also experienced in structural and architectural design and building information modelling. He specializes in creating structural and architectural drawings using Autodesk REVIT, as well as preparing structural plans and performing calculations for wood, steel, and concrete structures. Hussein has comprehensive knowledge of the Canadian Building Codes and Standards.
Hasan specializes in preparing Structural Drawings, Architectural Drawings, Site Plans, Structural Calculations for Part 9 Buildings and Commercial Units. Hasan also has comprehensive knowledge in applying the Ontario Building Code, whether Part 3, Part 4 or Part 9, to Residential and Commercial Buildings. Hasan is well versed in the Zoning Bylaws and the Building Permit Processes in most of the municipalities in Ontario. Utilizing this knowledge, Hasan is an expert at securing Building Permits under his seal as Registered Building Code (BCIN) Designer. Throughout this process, Hasan has conducted numerous Building Inspections and managed numerous projects from start to end. Hasan is also an associate member of the Ontario Association of Civil Engineering Technicians and Technologists.
Simon is a licensed professional engineer in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, California and Illinois. He specializes in forensic structural investigations and the rehabilitation and restoration of existing structures. His experience also consists of new building design, tenant improvement, structural repair, structural remodeling, and special structural design. Simon is practiced in the analysis and design of all major structural materials: wood, steel, concrete, and masonry, and possesses sound knowledge of the Canadian and US building and design codes, including NBCC Part 4, the CSA standards, ASCE-7.
Specializing in fire and explosions investigations and electrical engineering, Chris is qualified as an expert witness in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and has investigated over 1000 forensic incidents to date. In addition to over 10 years of fire and explosions experience, Chris has over 20 years’ experience working as an electrical engineer in the field of high and low voltage motors, generators, transformers and electrical equipment failure mode investigations and analysis, including electrical components design, repair and testing methods.
Paul is a licensed Professional Engineer specializing in Mechanical and Materials Engineering with expertise in forensic failure analysis. His skills encompass materials testing, metallurgical sample preparation and microstructure characterization.
With hands-on experience in automotive product design and testing, Paul’s knowledge extends to failures in consumer and industrial products, plumbing systems, automotive components, and issues stemming from corrosion, fatigue, improper installation, and poor material selection.
He is proficient in analysing failures related to metals, polymers, glass, ceramics and composites using analytical tools like XRD, XRF, SEM, EDX, and optical microscopy. Paul has collaborated with insurance companies, law firms and industrial risk management teams. His contribution to the field of materials science and engineering is validated by 25 technical publications and presentations.
Alexa is a Mechanical Engineer, Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator. She has a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Master’s degree in mechanical and industrial engineering from the University of Toronto. She has attended and investigated over 300 fire scenes, including over 150 vehicle fires.
Adam specializes in structural forensic investigation and holds a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Alberta. He is a licensed professional engineer in Ontario, BC, Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, PEI, and Nova Scotia. To date, Adam has investigated over 800 structural losses and has been qualified as an expert in structural engineering three times in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Adam’s background includes work as a structural engineer providing service for new building construction, personal fall arrest systems, roll-over protection systems, structural assessments, repairs, and failure investigations. He also has experience teaching engineering labs and conducting research on building envelopes, structural health monitoring, and masonry walls at the University of Alberta.
Matt is a licensed professional engineer in the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, BC, and Ontario, as well as the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. He is a certified fire and explosion investigator and certified vehicle fire investigator, specializing in mechanical related losses, and has conducted over 1000 investigations. Prior to working in forensic engineering consulting, Matt spent multiple years in the academic and research field studying various fire science topics at both the University of Waterloo and the University of Saskatchewan.
Peter is a Certified Fire and Explosions Investigator (CFEI) and specializes in fire scene investigation. He is also a qualified expert in both general division and provincial division courts. His professional experience includes 20 years with the Toronto Police and eight years with the Office of the Fire Marshal. He has completed over 900 forensic fire scene investigations which have included fire fatalities, large losses, residential and commercial losses.
