Her dedication and expertise led to her promotion to Executive Assistant, where she supported senior executives with efficiency and discretion. Today, as the Eastern Canada Administration Supervisor, Carolyn oversees administrative operations, mentors staff, and ensures seamless workflows across the organization.
Tyler is an architectural technologist and BCIN qualified designer with experience preparing formal engineering plans and permit drawings, as well as conceptual drawings and high-quality renderings. Tyler has a proven track record of managing a wide array of projects, ranging from residential renovations to new commercial constructions. He has extensive knowledge of applicable building codes and zoning laws.
John is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and Fuels Specialist. He has over 17 years of experience, including 3 years with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority where he was Fuels Safety Inspector and Fuels Technical Trainer. Prior to that, he spent 10 years as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (313A Journeyperson) and Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A Journeyperson). John has also taught refrigeration and gas fitting at Fanshawe and Conestoga Colleges.
Benjamin is an architectural BCIN designer with experience preparing formal engineering plans, drawings and procedural documentation. He has created conceptual drawings and renderings for renovations, additions, new construction projects and the rebuild of damaged buildings. Ben is also a Certified Professional Inspector (CPI) and a NACHI-Certified Home Inspector. He has extensive knowledge of Ontario Building Codes and has coordinated with contractors, design professionals, district staff and city inspection authorities on various projects.
With over 30 years of experience training dogs in all areas of detection work, Sid leads all drug, explosive and accelerant related investigations that require the precise expertise of our K9 Unit. As Director at Large for the Canine Accelerant Detection Association, Sid has trained and handled eight accelerant detection dogs, and has extensive experience working with police, tracking and building searches. He is also an expert in handler protection and training for security patrol canines and mine detection dogs.
Mark has worked for the provincial downstream hydrocarbon regulator in Ontario for approximately 14 years. He has led over 500 fire and 100 explosion investigations involving natural gas, propane, fuel oil, diesel, gasoline, hydrogen, digester and landfill gas. Mark has extensive experience in hydrocarbon appliance operation and failure mechanisms, and expert knowledge of all Canadian codes and regulations with respect to hydrocarbon fuels. Mark worked for the Alberta Energy Regulator for 2 years where he specialized in pipeline inspection and failure investigations with respect to the upstream oil and gas industry. Mark has CFEI, G1, LP, PM2 certifications and over 25 years of experience in the hydrocarbon fuels industry.
Stephen has a 40-year career as an Ontario Fire Marshal and Police Investigator, during which he has led or assisted in over 800 fire and explosion investigations. He has provided expert testimony as a Collision Reconstructionist and has specialized in vehicle and marine fire investigations. This skill set entails the identification, collection, preservation, and presentation of evidence for use in court, the documentation of scenes, and the interviewing of witnesses.
Jeff is a Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems Operator specializing in pre-loss and post-loss site inspections, field investigations and aerial scene mapping using Pix4D and Drone Deploy software. He is also a Level 3 Traffic Collision Investigator and a Level 4 Collision Reconstructionist with over 22 years of policing experience, including five years as a Forensic Identification Officer and 9 years in traffic services. Jeff is qualified to image, analyze and interpret vehicle air bag control modules. He has served in a supervisory role for a major municipal police agency overseeing traffic services including collision reconstruction as well as managing his services drone program.
Andrea is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator. She has over 10 years of experience with the Ontario Fire Marshall, prior to which she served as an officer with the Halton Regional Police Service for 22 years after working in several investigative units to include being a lead Homicide Detective for 3 years. She has attended over 200 autopsies with Halton Regional Police and Ontario Fire Marshall office. To date, Andrea has been involved in over 700 fire and explosive investigations. She has been qualified as an expert in fire and explosive investigations in Ontario Court and Superior Court of Justice for the Province of Ontario. Andrea is also an associate instructor for the Ontario Fire College and has taught the NFPA 1033 fire course to firefighters and police.
Richard specializes in fire and explosion investigation, fire department litigation, wood-burning appliance investigations, marine fires and chemical reactions. As a forensic engineer and designated consulting engineer with more than 35 years of industry experience, Richard has conducted over 3,500 fire and explosion investigations and has been accepted as an expert by all levels of courts in five provinces.
