As a Structural Engineer at OCI Group, Charly Massaad conducts forensic investigations to determine the cause and extent of structural failures and property damage across residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. His experience includes evaluating losses related to fire, water infiltration, building envelope deficiencies, structural failures, and code compliance.
Charly manages forensic engineering assignments from initial site inspection through to final reporting, coordinating with clients while conducting detailed structural assessments and analyses. He prepares repair recommendations, develops stamped engineering drawings, and performs site reviews to verify construction compliance and support rehabilitation projects.
In addition to his technical expertise, Charly reviews construction documentation, technical specifications, contracts, and applicable building codes to assess liability and identify contributing factors to structural failures. He delivers clear, evidence-based engineering reports and expert opinions to support insurance claims, legal proceedings, and dispute resolution.
Hasan specializes in preparing Structural Drawings, Architectural Drawings, Site Plans, Structural Calculations for Part 9 Buildings and Commercial Units. Hasan also has comprehensive knowledge in applying the Ontario Building Code, whether Part 3, Part 4 or Part 9, to Residential and Commercial Buildings. Hasan is well versed in the Zoning Bylaws and the Building Permit Processes in most of the municipalities in Ontario. Utilizing this knowledge, Hasan is an expert at securing Building Permits under his seal as Registered Building Code (BCIN) Designer. Throughout this process, Hasan has conducted numerous Building Inspections and managed numerous projects from start to end. Hasan also is a Certified Engineering Technologist, registered with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.
Accepted as an expert witness by the Ontario Superior Court, Steve specializes in fires and explosions and has conducted investigations for over 1,000 fire and explosion scenes. His professional experience includes over 10 years with the Office of the Fire Marshal, Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, and extensive experience in automotive repair and inspection.
Peter is a Certified Fire and Explosions Investigator (CFEI), Certified Vehicle and Fire Investigator (CVFI), and specializes in fire scene investigation. He is also a qualified expert in both general division and provincial division courts. His professional experience includes 20 years with the Toronto Police and eight years with the Office of the Fire Marshal. He has completed over 900 forensic fire scene investigations which have included fire fatalities, large losses, vehicle, residential and commercial losses.
